The Dead Sea is one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders. Located approximately 1,200 feet (400 meters) below sea level, it is the lowest point on Earth. Renowned as the saltiest body of water in the world, the Dead Sea is uniquely rich in essential minerals, including Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium, Bromide, Calcium, Zinc, Iron, and more.

Situated between Jordan and Palestine in a geological depression formed over two million years ago, the Dead Sea spans an area of approximately 1,000 km², measuring around 75 km in length and 17 km in width, with depths reaching up to 400 meters.
For over 12,000 years, the Dead Sea has maintained its unique composition, allowing mineral-rich salt deposits to accumulate to depths of up to 100 meters—making it one of the richest natural sources of therapeutic minerals in the world.

The Dead Sea’s Unique Therapy: 

​Compared to the 3% salt content of ordinary sea water, the Dead Sea water contains 342 g/kg, or 34.2%  salts with a relatively high concentration of minerals such as magnesium, calcium, bromide and potassium. The high concentration of minerals in the Dead Sea increases the density of its water. The density depends on the concentration, temperature and on the depth of water in the Dead Sea.

The density of the Dead Sea water as measured on the basis of salts concentration reaching up to 265 g L -1 is about 1.3-1.4 g cm -3 whereas the density of the Atlantic Ocean water is 1.023-1.030 g cm -3 and this explains the buoyancy forces in the Dead Sea
